A Group of Our Own

One of the toughest parts of being back in Searcy is the lack of married 30-year-olds without kids.  Back in January the church we attend started a young marrieds class for people who have only been married for a few years or less.  Most of them are without kids, though not all.  And while most of them are in the 21 to 23-year-old range, the class has been a blessing in that we are socializing at least once a week with people closer to our own age.  But we were still missing the stronger bonds that can only be formed in a smaller group setting.  (The Sunday class has close to 50 people in it.)  Two weeks ago the class started the Fireproof video series.  To deepen the study, we've split the class into small groups that meet Sunday evenings and continue the discussion begun in class that morning.  This past Sunday was the first time Sam and I were able to go to our small group (the week prior being Mother's day), and we came away feeling excited for the possibilities for friendship and accountability we found.  It reminded me that the Lord's timing is different from ours, and He will give us what we need, when we need it.
